Dennis Chinaworks (Sally Tuffin)
Dennis Chinaworks was launched in 1985 to make ceramics for collectors. Sally (formerly Sally Tuffin) and Richard Dennis then spent six years reviving Moorcroft Pottery in Stoke on Trent. They restarted Dennis Chinaworks in 1993. There are two throwers and a team of five decorators who prepare each pot individually using traditional techniques of slip trailing and incising the paint with underglaze pigments, building layers of colour. The oxides are pushed to the limit of tolerance in the firing to give bold rich colours. Finally each piece is signed and numbered.
Cmielów (Blue Poppy)
These delightful sculptures, inspired by the work of Picasso and Henry Moore, were originally designed in the late fifties and early sixties by sculptors working with the historic Cmielów porcelain factory in in Poland where porcelain has been in production since 1790. The Collection includes figures in bright vibrant colours as well as the monochrome shades so reminiscent of the periods fashion.Every piece is carefully hand made in the finest porcelain before being decorated again by hand. Each one is numbered and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity showing the sculpture number, the year of the original design and the name of the sculptor.
Okra Glass
All Okra designs are limited editions either because, as a small innovative company, they regularly introduce new lines or because they are designated as such and individually numbered. It would also be true to say that as each piece is individually hand-made, no two pieces are ever the same and therefore each may be regarded as a limited edition of one!
